Tesla fires hundreds after completing performance reviews. That should help get the Model 3 back on schedule.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Essentially.
Or maybe “That’s a nice paycheck you’ve got there. It would be a shame if something were to happen to it....”

Not sure if this is a sign of impending doom, or just normal large-company stuff. Perhaps the fired employees made it through a 3-strikes program or other “performance improvement” program? They have regular reviews, and if they don’t hit certain metrics, they get a verbal warning the first time, written warning the second, and fired the third.

I wonder if they’re going to use my ex-boss’ strategy of paring down operations until all the critical parts are designed, tested, and put into production by two guys fresh out of college with like zero experience.

If that were true, there would be a regular shedding of jobs every quarter, half or year, depending on how frequently they review. But i can’t see a news item showing this has been happening at regular intervals.

Maybe these were the people in charge of build quality/panel gaps.

Or maybe a company that wants to get ahead of the unionization push by getting rid of dead wood.

Have employee evaluation protocol and know how to use it...

I suspect it was maybe a purge of those who didn’t drink the Kool Aid. I suspect it is a bizarre place to work.

Very well may be. But I hope they keep the union out.
